The Story Lounge Podcast:

Real stories about business, life and who we become

What is The Story Lounge Podcast?

The Story Lounge Podcast is a story-led Australian podcast about business, life, identity and growth, hosted by Morgan Jannusch, a Storytelling Brand Strategist and former journalist. Each episode explores the real experiences that shape people and the way they show up, in business and beyond.

It isn't a tips-and-tactics marketing show. There's no five-step formula and no hustle pep talk.

It's the conversation you have when the laptop's closed and someone asks, 'But how did you actually get here?' What happened. What you believed at the time. What changed. And what you understand now that you didn't then.

Because here's the thing: the most interesting part of any business is rarely the business. It's the person who built it.

What will I hear on the podcast?

Morgan Jannusch, Storytelling Brand Strategist, sitting in a curved olive armchair in an emerald green pleated dress, looking down with a calm, reflective expression beside a window with sheer white curtains.

Every episode is built around a real story. You'll hear

  • The turning points that changed how people build their business (and their life)

  • The gap between who you were, who you've become, and what your brand says about you

  • The messy middle that never makes it to the highlight reel

  • Honest reflections on visibility, courage and showing up as yourself

  • Conversations with guests whose stories deserve a lot more airtime

Some episodes are raw. Some are funny. A few might make you put your coffee down and stare at the wall for a minute. All of them are real.

Who is The Story Lounge Podcast for?

It's for anyone who's more interested in the story than the strategy slide, especially:

  • Business owners, founders and sole traders who'd rather be known than viral

  • Coaches, creatives, practitioners and experts who've outgrown how they describe themselves

  • Anyone who's ever thought, 'I don't know if my story is interesting enough'

  • People who love a good, honest conversation about work, life and identity

You don't need to own a business to enjoy it. You just need to be curious about people.

Telling the Story Behind Anuha Connect Cafe

Alt headline: A Cafe Worth Cheering For: Anuha Connect Cafe

Social media and PR that put a Gatton community cafe in front of the region.

Snapshot (one month of organic social media)

9,416Content views (up 123.5%)
2,578People reached (up 46.5%)
273Content interactions (up 175.8%)
731Facebook page visits (up 61%)
32New followers

The Goal

To help share the story of Anuha Connect Cafe in Gatton, a place where people living with disability are learning new skills and building connections with their community, and to bring the region along for its official opening.

What I Did

  • Run Anuha's social media, turning their stories into content that connects with real people
  • Pitched the official opening to local media
  • Supported the opening with content and communications

The Result

  • Coverage from WIN News Toowoomba, 7News Toowoomba and The Toowoomba Chronicle
  • In a single month of organic social media, content views more than doubled
  • Over the first three months, Anuha's content earned 16,084 views and reached 3,757 people, all organic with no paid advertising
  • Optional: engagement rate of 18.15% in the most recent report, the strongest of the last two periods

The Story

Anuha has supported the Lockyer Valley, Ipswich and Somerset for more than 40 years. The cafe is its newest way of showing what people can do. The coverage came from leading with the people and the skills they are building, not the date of an opening. That is also what works on social: the posts about real people in the community drive the conversation.
